I don't understand...if you truly 'rescued' her why would you want to take her back to the old owner once you found a health issue? That isn't the way rescue works...you rescue and deal with what comes your way with the best interest of the dog in mind and at heart...even if it costs you a few $$.
I would check with vets and Yorkie/small dog rescue groups in your area...someone should be able to help with her surgery.
