Pups should not be allowed to leave the breeders home until 12 weeks of age. If the breeder is following a good vaccination protocol, vaccinations are given 8 weeks another at 12 weeks. At 8 weeks they are just being weaned, a very dangerous age for the pup.....being rehomed at that age is very tramatic for them. They usually will not eat well for the first 24 to 48 hours, which can lead to hyperglycemia.
