Happy's hair is way to short to try anything yet but my mom uses both on her yorkies. She did however let me in on a little trick about using the rubber ones. Buy some TiGi Bedhead....most walmarts carry this line. Put a dab on your thumb and finger and run the rubber band through it. It won't make it slick enough to come out but will help prevent breakage and make them easier to come out. I thought maybe she was crazy until my girlfriend who is a hairdresser said she does the same thing if she is doing an updo that requires a pony tail so that her clients dont complain about taking it out later on. Makes it much easier on the hair for human/animal! Hope this helps!
