We just had a litter of 5...we started letting 2 of the puppies leave mommy at 8 weeks, they were done weaning, eating solid food and mostly independent...2 more left at the 9-10 week range and we still have one, he was the smallest and finally got over the 2 pound weight at 11.5 weeks. He has been on solid food before the others, but he was so small he only gained a few ounces a week, it took longer for him to reach 2 lbs. He's ready now and we are interviewing people to get him...that's the hardest part we found this time...finding people who you would want to have one of your dogs...strange, very strange. But that's another thread for sure. That's our litter's history..hope it helps. |
