I know it was not ideal and she did everything to correct him... This was not her first trainer but this is the only method that worked. It is terrible but so is getting your face injured. She asked for " someone with a miraculous evil yorkie turned sweet heart over night?" although not a yorkie this pup went from as bad as it gets to a very nice dog to be around. I agree that there are some underlying issues if he knows better with the OP but attacks her husband. Maybe taking your husband with you to the trainer.
To the OP... Don't give up hope, you will find something that works for you. And we can all see that you are really trying to help your little one. Perhapes going to a different trainer until you find one that can help him.
