That's weird that both Cesar and Victoria had an eppy on the static mat, one for, one against. I wonder if that was deliberate? It didn't seem to be working too well for Victoria's dogs (she threw it out).
Victoria does use more treats, though she did not in this episode. She used gentle negative reinforcement (removed dog from situation if he barked, stopped walking when he pulled on the leash), and body blocking. Oh, I guess she used some for the Wait command. I also thought it was interesting that she decided not to teach the old dog new tricks! |
I understood why she decided not to work with the old dog. My Rat Terrier will be 16 in September and there is NO way I could teach her new tricks. I swear she forgets what she is doing from one minute to the next. lol.
I am addicted to "It's me or the Dog" too! I've never seen "The Dog Whisperer" show but I really don't like that he would use one of those static mats.
