So maybe the past month he was scratching like crazy and then he started to get more spots and i know i probably shouldn't have waited a month, plus last night and this morning he kept crying and i couldn't figure out why so he slept with me and bf but anyway the doctor said that he is allergic to pollen and dust he has skin allergies. And that he irritated his skin by scratching (my fault). He has to take to different liquid medicines and he has some medicated shampoo. His skin scrapping test came back negative so she told me to keep him in the house as much as possible for the next two weeks because of the meds and the air. He is now sleeping like a baby. I just felt so horrible for my baby how could i have let him be in pain like this? I just thought he had dry skin. Is there any advice yt mom and dads who babies have allergies? Because the vet ask me about his bedding because his was on his tummy but i wash his linen and toys once a week. Its just denzel, hubby, and i. I'm a neat freak i'm always dusting mopping etc. Is there something else i'm missing or not doing or doing wrong? |
make sure to wash in hypoallergenic soap - i use the perfume and dye free from costco. I also use perfume and dye free seventh generation to wash water and food bowls. I have been dealing with it for 5 years

because it is something on his belly it is a contact allergy it sounds to me - try putting a little tshirt on to see if it gives relief as the tshirts help allergy dogs alot keep dust and pollen off skin and keeping hair longer is better to protect the skin. You need to bath weekly to keep dust and pollen off - use blue hypoallergenic from petco or dr bronners mild unscented baby shampoo as all organic oils and castille soap -- NO OATMEAL SHAMPOOS as many allergy dogs are also allergic to oatmeal. I will read through thread to see more just starting. Also 90% of allergies are environmental 10% food. It starts from age 6mos to 3 years so how old is your baby. It is tough but keeping them comfortable is key. My dd has a staph infection which is brown spots so did the vet do a cytology? Are there red pimples on skin if so that is a staph infection and i recommend starting with simplicef antibiotic for at least 21 days preferably 25 as that is what our dermatologist recommended for dee dee. What happens is they itch and open skin then allows bacteria to get in and you get staph infections. Probiotics are very important for allergy dogs
