An older puppy or dog can be sold for a little less, but be very cautious. I have seen too many looking for cheap dogs because they can't afford certain prices or say they can't. Yes some will argue they will pay Vet bills. would you take them seriously?.
Well, guess what? They aren't going to pay Vet care either. Cheaper and easier to let it die and go get another cheap dog. This is becoming far too common -- and heart breaking.
Or as was pointed out, dog with a skin condition got put outside in very hot weather. Likely it is dead now.
A couple of days ago I was talking to someone who said she had taken her dogs in to the Vet for their vacc's. She ended up waiting a bit in the waiting room as an emergency came in. Bernese Mtn dog was left outside in its backyard and we were having a very hot heat wave. Dog died of heat stroke.
I have seen very neglected and infected teeth in cheap dogs, owners don't care. It dies, go get another one somewhere, cheap.
