We were told by our vet to to get a vaccination if we were outdoors a lot and there was a chance of our dog drinking from standing water or public water. I can't remember the name of it off the top of my head but we did get it b/c we camp so often and go to the lake. You and anyone else who takes their dog camping or to the lake may want to check with their vet.
