This breeder advertises large numbers of breeds and mixed breeds on his website. He lets them go too early. He has only a nominal health guarantee. YT members have contacted him and he appears to have a very large number of puppies for sale (different litters), and he either knows nothing about what medical care puppies require, or is counting on his buyers not to. The registry he uses is known to be a popular one with puppy mills.

The OP says that because she has spoken to this man in person, and because he is very nice in person, he must be breeding healthy dogs in humane conditions. No word about genetic testing for LP, liver shunt, or visiting the home.

Everyone posted this information as kindly and clearly as they could, and the OP decided that anyone who wasn't in enthusiastic agreement with the decision to buy a puppy from this operation was hateful and attacking. The OP knows she lives in a state known for the huge number of puppy mills and has decided it's not worth the time to be careful. This is how puppy mills and the like stay in business -- a lot of us didn't know better when we got our pups, but this person doesn't care.

To the OP again -- most of us here do not have show quality dogs. We support breeders who only breed yorkies, who make sure their yorkies are not carriers for genetic diseases, and probably only have a few puppies a year. $1,000 is a lot of money, but you are not buying a car, you are buying a lifetime companion. If you were as casual as you say you are about just getting a puppy from a neighbor's dog, you would go to a yorkie rescue. Or just go to the pound.

I promised myself I would not respond anymore, but I want it to be clear why not everyone is beside themselves with joy that the OP is getting her pup (7 weeks old now?).
