The customer service person told me I can book the flight then call to reserve. I think I need to know what is the % that I am going to then have a problem getting this pup on the flight with them when it comes time to board. Hoping someone can ease my mind before I commit to these tickets.
I don't know what the maximum allowed dogs is at US Airway. American Airlines is I think 7 in Main Cabin and 4 in 1st class. Although, during Westminster they up the number. I know we had a total of nine yorkies in the Main Cabin at that time. However, it's standard procedure to book your flight through whoever, and then call the airlines to reserve the position for your dog. I don't think you're going to have a problem. The reason they request you to reserve the spot is that they put it on the itinerary, so when you check your baggage they make sure and collect the fee required for the dog. I don't know where your parents are from, or how old the pup is, but be sure and get a health certificate. It's not the airlines that require it, but the state you are traveling into.
