Default hoping you find a solution

omg, you find everything on this forum. I stumbled onto this thread. My maltipoo Baxter does the same thing. I always knew it was a neurotic issue. The situation we got him from wasn't ideal and he became a 'licker'. It has caused him to have chronic UTIs. He licks himself continuously. I say stop and he immediately stops, and then waits until I"m not looking and starts up again. I do notice that once in awhile the tip of his sheath appears swollen and pink pokes out a bit...I had no idea that the problem could escalate to the issues that you are dealing with. Now I know that just occasional courses of antibiotics for the UTIs are the least of my worries and to start watching for something worse and to be more aggressive about curing his behavior. I'll be anxious to see how your situation gets resolved and hope you are able to avoid surgery and if not that your very best furfriend comes through with flying colors.
