My Piper had surgery for Legg Perthes Disease last December. Luckily only one hip was involved. Piper never really limped at all. One day I noticed she was carrying her hind leg on and off. She didn't seem to be in pain but after a week of carrying that leg occassionally I had a gut feeling that something bad was going on. When she had her x-rays done she not only had the head of the femur looking like cottage cheese but there was also bone chips floating around. She had her surgery done within a week. Now she walks and runs completely normally. There are several people here that have babies that have had this surgery with great results. I also think you should find a good orthopedic surgeon.
