My dog is not AKC registered either. I bought him as an adult from someone who bought him from a pet store, so for all I know he is a mix. He is an adorable dog and I love him with all my heart, but he is a million miles from show quality. I am not posting out of malice. I am pushing the point again, even though I know you are tired of it, because it is so important, and I can't quite believe that someone with the information you have now would still be okay getting this dog.

The registry matters not because your dog has to be "good enough", it matters because it is a registry commonly used by unscrupulous breeders.

Please consider the health of your lifelong companion, and the welfare of dogs in general.
