where the heck did you get that information from, nowhere on earth does it say that you have to have an AKC dog to have a healthy dog.
My goodness people now you're just getting ridiculous, and showing yourselves for who you really are. It's like no matter what if the breeder is not AKC and if the breeder is not up to your ridiculous show quality (uppity snobbish) standards you instantly scream puppy mill, well that's just not even worth talking to you over. |
Lol, I don't think anyone's saying you're pup is going to automatically get sick and die. MANY people get dogs from pet stores and puppy mills and the dogs are perfectly healthy, and many people get dogs from reputable breeders that are NOT healthy. There's no guaranteeing
anything. I agree with you on that. I would prefer not to spend $1000's to purchase a dog as well. I didn't get Jackson from a "Reputable" breeder, he was $550 from a woman who said her female got pregnant unknowingly and had puppies and she couldn't keep them all. However; I believe she is a "backyard breeder" and I do feel guilty knowing I may have contributed to her sales but I truly,
honestly, believed her in that she just needed to sell these puppies, etc. She was an extremely nice person who kept the puppies in her bedroom while young and gave me shot records, gave me a health guarantee, etc. I went to her HOME to pick up the puppy. He was a little over 9 weeks old. Jackson is 9 mo. old now and perfectly healthy, but far from the Yorkie "standard" but I could care less about standard, and that's me being perfectly honest. I just wanted a pet. I'm not into showing, breeding, or AKC. I'm just not hip on it.
HOWEVER, puppy mills are a disgusting and terrible thing and I would NEVER purchase a puppy from a pet store or from someone that sells multiple breeds and not allowing you to come into their house like you're purchasing from. It's one thing if you buy a dog from a pet store not knowing... many people do and find out the hard way about mills. But you are on this website now, you do not have a puppy yet and you are getting a wealth of information, yet you still refuse to listen. So that's fine! Your pup will most likely be perfectly healthy, may not, may be. But bottom line is you contribued to this:

And on that note, I wish you and your puppy nothing but total happiness. But just thought I'd give you another perspective since I am very much like you on the AKC, etc. I'm not one of those "snobs" (and neither are 99% of the people on this site, even if you think they are...) and I'm more of an old fashioned dog owner in a way... but puppy mills are one thing I stand strong on.
