I've seen pics and videos (on youtube) of Yorkies from the UK and Germany with the full, natural tail, and it is gorgeous!

I think that in the next five years, tail docking for cosmetic purposes will be banned in a many states here in the U.S. There currently is legislation pending in a few states, and the recent policy issued by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) will encourage more legislation.

The official policy of the AVMA (available on their website) and revised November 2008 is that the "AVMA opposes ear cropping and tail docking of dogs when done solely for cosmetic purposes. The AVMA encourages the elimination of ear cropping and tail docking from breed standards."
