My little girl went to the vet today to get the stitches out, they took the ones out of her eyelid and the stitch that they put in her conjective something or other was still holding. They sewed it shut also to act like a bandage for the eye itself. They thought it would have dissolved by now.
One of the vets who works there used to work for a vet who specialized in eyes and recommended that we just leave it because the longer it was shut the more healing it could do. So she can open her eyelid but it's covered and you can't see her eye so we don't know if she is going to be able to see or not. They want to see her again when the stitch comes out.
I was really surprised the first visit cost me $80 including the ointment and everything and they haven't charged me for any of the follow up visits. It surprised me since they had to put her under I figured they would charge a lot more.
