Instead of feeding him 3x a day, why don't you try "free-feeding?" That's what I do with Pixel because it takes me over a half hour to get to work each day, and so I can't make it home for lunch. He seems to do well with it. He never overeats or anything and I don't have to worry about hypoglycemia.
