How old does a yorkie have to be before you can leave him alone at home for about 10 hours? My boss is giving me 6 weeks to allow the dog to go with me to work, after which he will be 16 weeks (4 months old) He weighs about 2.5lbs and is trained on the pee pad while I have him at work. He poops before I leave for work at 7:00am and when we come home from work at 5pm.

At 4 months old, is it safe to leave him home for that length of time? I'm thinking of re-adjusting his 3 meals to 6:15am 5:15pm and 9pm. I go to bed at 11pm.

He's very calm and relaxed in his playpen and often sleeps most of the day until I take him out walking and playing after work.
