We "free fed" Annie and she ate when she hungary. Never over ate. When we had Annie, DJ and Harley D, there was always a bowl of kibble in addition to their being fed 2X a day. Same for Zack and Zeke. All have not over ate. No weight problems. Just lucky I guess. I have seen the bowl of dry food sit untouched/very little for days before throwing it away.
