this is the same in my case when i leave for work at 7am i measure his food and always leave water hubby checks bowl when he leaves for work at 12pm and food is always left. then when i get home at 330pm we take a walk and he has fresh food and water when we get back from our walk 4:30 maybe sometimes 5pm. so he gets what he needs and what he wants to eat and his weight is fine.
