I stopped free feeding my dogs, because it made my Shih Tzu a more finicky eater. Now I feed my dogs once a day, and my Shih Tzu eats at mealtime. The only thing I leave out all day is their water bowl. I understand that free feeding dogs work for you guys, but it did not work for my Shih Tzu so I had to stop.
