OMG, I'm so sorry to stay away for so long. I am in TN with Ralphie and Agnes visiting my parents. They don't have a good internet connection yet.
Ralphie has not tried to lick since we have been here (since Monday) and he is not acting like it is itching him or irritated.
I think that if damage had already been done my vet would have said so. He inspected it pretty thouroughly and said his main concern was what "could" happen if we did not take some action.
Thank you soo much Kalina for the advice and the list that you posted. I will definitely follow up on that. I agree that a board certified surgeon would be best if that is not what my vet already is. He needs to go to the best possible place if surgery is the road that we take.
