Oh geez my mom does this. It's esp annoying b/c she is always bragging about how thin she is, esp for her age (which in itself is annoying enough!) She tells me at lunchtime (when she used to work, she's retired now) she would never order fries b/c they are fattening. She says "if you really want some just ask someone for 2 pieces, so you won't overeat, then you can ask someone else for 2 pieces, and so on" I call this "yogi-ing" like how Yogi bear steals peoples food. Of course no one's is gonna say no, but then you see her working her rounds getting free fries from co-workers.
Then whenever we go out to lunch, usually with my bro, she always asks what we are having. "Oh you're getting some sashimi right? So I can have one piece from you and one piece from you" And she says "so
I CAN have", not "so
CAN I have" And she always orders extra food so she can take it home. Basically i end up feeding her for like 2 days b/c she eats so little.
I ALWAYS end up paying, even if she called ME for MY birthday. Not even once does she even pretend to try to pay. And after lunch, it's always "let's get pinkberry! I'll pay" Then when it comes times to pay she takes out her wallet eeeevvvveeer sooooo sloooowwwlllly, and we just roll our eyes, and either me or my bro will pay.
AND she says "oh I'm retired I'm on a fixed income now" and every time I see her she's got on a new piece of jewelry, the real stuff I'm talking about.
