   My dh said the same thing.  He says if it got to the point that I had to interfere if I saw the baby out loose or something like that, it would be a problem.  I just hope she heals quickly and feels better soon.Quote:   |

 You definitely have a leg to stand on in this case. Their dog was on your property and as a result, your female was bred. Personally, I don't think they should be rewarded for this situation. Instead, they should be punished in some way. It is pure negligence!
 
 Because this was an accident that you didn't want to happen, you don't owe them anything, really. They owe you for the expenses, but if they don't pay that, they have no right to a puppy.
 
 I agree that you should make all your expenses known to them and I also agree that you should have a contract drawn up. You can simply give them the boy on limited registration or demand neutering before they get the papers.
 
 You don't want to offend them and that is fine, but you have a right to protect your puppies. You should enforce this right.
