Welcome to YT! I'm so sorry to hear about your loss of Gizmo. Yes, liver shunt is a hereditary disease and your new puppy could be at risk. It is passed genetically through the lines so I would take your new baby to the vet and have a bile test ran to see what's going on just to be safe. I don't mean to be negative or worry you more but I would definately have him checked out. And it bothers me firstly that your breeder "wasn't too happy" to give you another pup and that they he basically didn't take Gizmos death to be his responsibility. I really hope your new baby is healthy and happy!
