Just wanted to report in:
Brody is doing really well with crate training! He now knows that he needs to potty right when he comes out of his crate in order to get some playtime! Then we let him out with us in the house or the yard for about an hour or so before he goes back into his crate for some rest time.
I'm still keeping a hawk's eye on him while he's out, we've had some accidents because I wasn't watching carefully enough, but yesterday we also had a bit of a breakthrough, as Brody was out in the kitchen with me and had to go, and he went right over to where his pen is (his potty area) but because it wasn't open he peed right next to it. So now I'll have to keep the pen open when he's out playing with us, in case he has to go. I think he may really be getting the hang of it.
He's still going in the yard also when he's out there. Natural instincts I guess. So I keep a watchful eye on him outside too, so I can pick up the poop, and I am hoping when the Rascal dog potty gets here he'll take to it easily.
Anyone else actively potty training their pup want to give us an update???
