Incorrect, my friends year old Besenji jumped off their 2nd floor balcony and broke both it's front legs. Why take a chance.
Dogs don't have a sense of what is there and what isn't. Proof in point; puppies will walk off the side of a pool deck. Each and every one of my dogs have done at least once. After that one time, they never do it again. But, all it takes is that one time. And I've had older dogs that have done it, if they've never been around a pool.
