Calm down. If you are nervous, your girl will be nervous too. I would let the mama do the cords (if she will). Dogs have been having pups on their own since way before any of us were here. With Trixie, we did them because she wouldn't. She had her first two literally within 2 minutes of each other. She was so busy getting the second one out, she forgot about the first one. We used dental floss to tie it, one inch from the pup, and child's scissors to cut (on the puppy side). You should notice a definate difference when she is in stage 1 labor and will be well aware that they are coming. I am sure everything will go fine. Post if you have any questions or problems...there always seems to be plenty of Yorkie lovers around to help. Have supplies to cut the cords ready and out just in case (scissors, thread/floss, um...snot sucker?) The last thing you want to do is discover you need them and have to try to find them in a rush.
