I am looking for a Yorkie that is between 4 - 5 lbs. The color doesn't matter to me. I have contacted all the breeders from YTCA that I found to be near me, but haven't gotten much of a response. I also posted a thread here, but I haven't gotten any responses either. |
Keep trying with the YTCA breeders in your area, they may not have anything right now but waiting is worth it's weight in gold to buy from a reputable breeder. YTCA is a great way to start your search as we are not just breeding yorkies for the public but show dogs for ourselves but we don't always produce show quality. Like Mardalin said you are building a relationship with your breeder first then the relationship with the pup.
Be comfortable with your breeder and ask many questions. I prefer a breeder that will guarnatee for more than 2 years on their yorkies. I'd run from any breeder that only offers a 72 hour guarntee or shorter. I also would be wary of a 1 year guarntee myself but of course that is just me personally.
