LOL... I can see you beating the ground/grass with a broom. I am sorry just could not resist a laugh. I know it is so important to make sure after that snake killed that one yorkie last summer. If mine went in the grass - I too would be out there beating the ground too.
My back porch is across the whole back of the house and we live in a ranch style home, so it is huge. And the way the house is positioned it is mostly shady back there and it is covered too. They love it! But they tell me when they want back in, especially right now - doesn't take them long.
