I'm sorry Barb if you think I'm picking on ya but I"m not, I have many friends that don't let their dogs outside or even put them on the ground it just means I don't agree with it and I prefer my dogs to experience everything since they are animals. I"m just a firm believer that a well socialized and healthy dog need the outside, fresh air ect to build character, muscle tone and a healthy attitude....I guess that's why I have well adjusted puppies and adults and all are happy go lucky. I've never had a shy or timid pup in any of my litters.

Oh those fireants. I remember them....wasps were what scared me....and now I have rattlesnakes to contend with....go out and beat the yard before I let them out....
But, they do need fresh air and sunshine to thrive and be happy. Since all of sudden the hot weather has it hit here, they prefer not to be out doors too long....just enough to do their business and sniff whatever is on the ground and right back in.
