We tried to crate Bella but she HATED it to the point she would potty in it so we would take her out. I really think something bad happened to her in a crate! We have done two things to keep her safe. First we have baby gates to keep her in the room we want her mostly kitchen while we are gone. Second she has had puppies so to keep them all safe and together we have an xpen with a whelping box my bf managed to retrofit to an odd shaped space in our bedroom. The babygates work very well if you want her to have more room than an x pen provides but the x pen is a gauranteed safe area. Good Luck!
