Apparently Abby's mother gave Henry up for adoption when he was born......but the condition was that the parents had to come to the island every summer. He spent time with Abby's family and he and Abby became the best of friends, not knowing that they were brother and sister. One summer when he had to leave, Abby whispered to him...."I wish you could stay, and we could be the only ones here forever!" They were little children at the time, but Henry never forgot it.
Wakefield found out Henry was his son, shortly after he had committed the original murders of Abby's mom and others. He then "taught" his son how much fun it was to kill.......and they cooked up the scheme to kill everyone.
