So my sister called me this morning and told me that my dad was having abdominal pain, flank pain and nausea. We told him to go to the hospital because he was in a lot of pain. He went to an urgent care and it was so full he couldn't get in right away so he was going to go home!! He said he was feeling faint and he was practically in tears from all the pain. Finally I told my sister to make him go. Luckly, his ex girlfriend came down and drove him to another place abd they were able to give him something for the pain. We are thinking it is kidney stones from the symptoms and the doc ordered xrays. My two sisters are headed up to see him and to make sure everything goes okay. I am so nervous and scared even though it is probably just kidney stones. He is 52 and just retired last year... He was a truck driver and it just seems like most of his friends that retired had some sort of health problem in the first year after retirement and quite a few died within the first five years!!! I know it's probably going to be okay but I am just so scared it will be worse. My dad is my rock and i wouldn't be the person that I am today without him. I am such a strong person because of him but the thought of something happenig to him jus kills me.
