I would weight the babies at least twice a day and that will give you an idea. As long as they are continuing to gain, I would not be too concerned. I found that for the first month, as long as Zoe was doing a good job taking care of them, the puppies did not wake me at all. If they are crying, I would think it's either they are too warm or too cold or they are hungy. Although I have heard of other things like gas or similar problems. Zoe did not leave her puppies for the first week other then to go potty and to eat, I had to hand feed her in her bed with the babies. I also offered her water too in bed. I don't think you can spoil them too much right now. Also, are you taking her temperature every day? I think you should still be doing that as that can often be the first sign of some other problem ie retained placentas.
