Just to give you an idea.... I've spent $2000 between vet and stud fees on my first litter. That doesn't even take into account my time and missed work. And I had few problems. She delivered naturally on her own. I have 3 puppies. You will see others on here who have had one puppy and a c-section. So in my opinion, if you want another puppy it would be cheaper to buy one than try to breed for one and risk losing your girl. But if that's the direction you still want to go in regardless of the cost, you've come to a really good place to research. I'd encourage you to do alot of reading and take your time - there's no rush! At 11 it's easy to do the impulsive thing and people your age usually have a hard time waiting for things they want but I hope that you remember that now you have to step up and kinda be an adult as you are responsible for another living being and you need to think about what's best for you girl and not what you want. Sometimes doing the right thing is not always easy. I hope you make the right decision here....
PS. If you really want to be apart of the birthing process - can I suggest starting with chickens? They hatch in 21 days. You can buy an incubator for under $100 and they are alot of fun. If you get the eggs from a farmer - most are willing to take the chickens back after they are born. I've done this several times myself and have so much fun with it! I thought maybe you might enjoy it too! |
