I'm afraid I have to agree it is a sign of our times.

People are all working and do not know their neighbors which is so important, not only for a feeling of safety but to teach your children to care for people around you.

Parents are giving their children way too much materially since their time is so limited working their pants off to pay a mortgage a bank should not have given them in the first place. I have a friend who is a HR manager who tells me the new group graduating coming in to work are telling her when they will work!! This shortage of jobs and the economy may in some ways as hard as it is may change alot of attitudes and get what is really important in our lives in order. JMO
