I would find a high-end consignment shop that knows what different brands mean. We have one in town that sells NICE stuff, like $200 designer jeans for $40. Which means they probably paid $20 for them, so that's pretty good, right? (and they were 1 size too small.... LOL)

I've done well with my garage sales because I price stuff REALLY low. If you can't part with it for a couple bucks, sell it elsewhere. You can't go for more than $5 on jeans, more like $2-3. Shoes $1-$3. Purses people don't even look if it's more than $3-5. Picture frames $1. I think the most I ever got for a single item was $20 for really nice $200 rollerblades that were like new. But if I could sell all my junk for $.50 each and make $200, I was thrilled!!!

I once had a women buy $20 worth of stuff that didn't even fit her, just because it was all marked $1. She said there was always someone in her family that could wear it, or something like that. If I had a $20 purse out there's no way she would have glanced at it. She obviously had $20, but she sure wasn't buying one item with it!!! I don't mean to be generalizing people who garage sale but I'm just saying if you want to cater to people who will buy anything and not have to pack up all of your stuff, price LOW. I mean, these people are walking into your yard to buy stuff from you for cash. It HAS to be a good deal, like they can't feel bad parting with if something doesn't work or fit right.

I always packed up my leftovers and donated them, so there was never anything left to put back in storage. My goal in right now is to de-clutter and stay that way!

Good luck with your sale!
