Hi! fellow Texan!!

It will be fine for him to have sun. (it's July in Texas...the sun is nearly impossible to avoid, right? ) Just be careful he doesn't get overheated. They can very easily, especially with the temps we are having right now. He shouldn't be on the ground outside until after all his puppy shots, but if you have a backyard that no unvaccinated dogs haven't been in, he'll be ok there. You just have to be careful of 'public' areas where he might pick up something from other dogs. You can take him out in public, just don't let him down and don't let him come into contact with strangers or other dogs until after all his shots. People can transmit some things and as much as everyone wants to touch a puppy I always just said, "I'm sorry he hasn't had all his shots and shouldn't be touched yet." People usually understand and if they don't they aren't the type you want touching your baby anyway.
