Littlepaws took excellent care of this little girl today. I thank her for trusting me with this baby! She trained me on tube feeding and gave lots of advice. This baby girl is very lively for one having such a rough start. In fact, I'm having a time of it typing and holding her on me at the same time. First tube feeding went really well. I only had to restart a couple of times. Almost time for another one!
Haven't got a name just yet -- so far calling her "Little Miss" since we went to Mississippi to get her. My sister (visiting from up north) came with me and held her all the way home.
I have to tell you how special this little baby is to me and why I know this was the right thing to do. I have not told many people here but last September I lost my dear husband after a long battle with cancer. That is why I was absent from the forum so long. His birthday was yesterday -- the same day this little puppy was born. In fact, I was at the cemetary "talking to him" as she was being born. I think she is a precious gift and will do everything to give her the best chance possible.
I will be happy for any advice, success stories, and especially prayers for my new baby girl! I have only just begun to study up on the cleft palate issue and what our options will be down the road. But I will do whatever she needs. I just have a good feeling about this!
