First day of blood . . .it just seemed so weird that her first one was February 12th and her second one came right on June 12th. I noticed the week before she started that PMS thing with Brody . .. everytime she was sleeping and if he happened to walk by she'd flip out and jump out of her bed growling and then wagging her tail . . .at first I was thinking no way is she PMSing because I assumed her 2nd heat would start in August sometime. But, then she started to bleed, then swell (not as much as her first heat though) then it was time for Brody's confinement . . .I contacted my vet because I was concerned that it wasn't an actual heat cycle but pyometra . . .he had me bring her in and he confirmed that yes, she actually was in heat . . .and said that some dogs will go into heat three times a year . . .but he was unsure if this would be the norm for her and we are watching and waiting to see if in fact her 3rd heat would be in October or not.
The only difference between her 1st and 2nd heat was the swelling . . her first heat she swelled up so much, it almost looked like a large strawberry . . .the 2nd heat she did swell, but it wasn't that huge pronounced swelling . . .but I am assuming that is because before she went into her first heat, her vulva was still a little bitty thing . . .
