In heat My Pollyanna is just starting her third cycle, and she is not happy. They will not spay her because of a possible liver shunt. She is eating very little, acts depressed and sleepy, is bleeding a lot, and wants to be close to me. The reason they found out about her liver was because I took her to be spayed because her last cycle was unpleasant. She acted like she was uncomfortable or in pain.
So, I guess doggies are like people, they have individual problems when in heat and are not particularly comfortable. Maybe a little extra consideration and snuggles make the time easier. I'll tell you, my doggie was very comforted by putting doggie panties on her. Before, she was licking constantly and preoccupied with the mess. Now, she is sleeping like a baby and not paying any attention to it. |
