7 weeks too little? Heyyy everyoneee..! I am needing some advice.. Tonight my parents brought home a 7 week puppy. Of course I was really excited to see that cute little babyface! ..but I was also worried because I know it's too soon. I wanted to wait for her to be atleast 10 weeks old but my mom was really eager/anxious.. I'm pretty unprepared because they just surprised me with her & I don't have any supplies yet! I have read & researched a lot, all over yorkietalk & google lol.. but I still feel like I don't know what to do now that she's actually here in front of me! What should I do? The breeder was their best friends' son&his girlfriend who is going on vacation this week (tomorrow) so, I can't take her back but.. I'm ready for the responsibilities. I just want her to be A-Okay.
She has her first set of shots, which include a list of things.. from parvo to distemperment etc..
I do plan on trying to socialize her to the best of my ability. Eventually enrolling her in dog training classes, & puppy play dates, lol.
I am going to the store tomorrow to buy some temporary supplies for her & I think I'm going to bring her with me in my purse.. making sure she doesn't walk so she can't catch anything.. (if that helps?)
Butttt.. I have another problem. We have two cats. They're almost 1 year old. Both are unspayed, indoor females. One of them is pretty friendly & the other one is afraid of everything, except our household. I had their first introduction today, when my parents waltzed in with Mercedes (the new baby) & the scaredy cat kitty barely even noticed her presence, while the friendly one hissed & was ready to run and hide.. "/
Sorry for this uber long post! I didn't realize how much I wrote until I finished, I just wanted to get everything out there.. lol. Any advice guys?
Thanks in advance! |
