I have this problem when I mulch..they are so tiny, you can't see them, but boy can you feel them.
Get a flat razor blade, just the razor blade part and scrape the razor part along where the sliver is. Hold it on it's side and just scrape it along. Just kind of barely scrape...I hope this makes sense. It might take a little bit, but you should be able to get it like that.
