This happened to my Roxy also, only one stitch was sticking out. It had been almost 4 weeks and I had called the vet and he said to just make sure that the incision was closed and secure. When I tried pulling on the stitch gently it was tight and I felt like I was going to hurt her. So I had called him again and he said to go ahead and give her a bath because sometimes the moisture will loosen the stitch. Well I did and by the time the bath and drying process was finished the stitch had come out. Not sure if this is the same thing but hopes this does help out.
