I asked my vet about capstar last year and she wasn't selling it. It sounded like she doesn't push it. I think it might still be kind of new and she's not the type to sell something to her patients unless she knows it's safe. We use Advantage. Before that I was putting Adantyx on her and it wasn't lasting so after talking to the company and the vet I switched and the Advantage is working much much better. Sometimes you might still see a flea or 2 but the stuff on the dog sterlizes them and they can't reproduce. Plus the ones you do see probably aren't moving very fast. It might not stop them from jumping on but it does stop them from biting and laying eggs.
Try to treat every animal in your house on the same days.
