That's great news!! I used a regular metal exercise pen. I like the appearance of the black metal way more than an ugly plastic one. I don't think there is a difference in the function unless one is bigger than the other. I've never pad trained or the fake grass trained so I can't be of much help there. My dog still goes potty in the house sometimes. It's been 6 months since I've gotten him. Sadly I don't think he'll ever be trained but if I take him out when he needs to go he only has an accident once in a while.
