I use heartgard plus (I thought I got regular but apparently it is plus) and Advantage. I go on hikes and swimming and camping with my dog but it is all on flat dirt. I don't use advantage plus. There's a new thing called Comfortis, it is an oral flea medication. You might want to check it out.
