First and foremost, be patient. Only scold him about potty training, when you actually catch him in the "act". Then say "NO!", and pick him up and put him where you want him to pee.....praise him profusely, even if he doesn't go....just to let him know, that is the spot that is acceptable. If is very small, he won't be able to wait long periods of time, in his crate without messing. Never put him in his crate as punishment, or he will think it is a bad place to be. Leave the door open on his crate during the day, so he can go in and out at his leisure and get used to it......put some toys, comfy pillow, etc in the so he thinks it is his safe place. Good luck!
